Anyone else? Every so often everything starts going fast and loud. I know in reality it's not, but in my mind it is. There is a voice in my head, I think its my own, that gets louder and faster and just starts yelling at me. It is a really weird experience and hard to explain. Lasts no more than 5 minutes. Does anyone else experience this? Or know what it is?

Hello and cinimoncookie12,

I think that I know what you're referring to. I do have a sensitivity to sounds, lights, and activity normally ~ but there are times when my senses are intensified significantly. The lights are very bright, sounds are LOUD and fast. It is overwhelming! I usually step back quietly and try not to attract anymore attention & activity. After a few minutes, the intensity eases a bit, thankfully.

I have had times where this occurred a few times per day. Probably due to stress. the events are much more rare now, down to once a week or so. I'm not sure why I go through these periods of hypersensitivity. I have had medical tests during these events, due to other possible physical causes (Epilepsy and TBI), neither of which were determined to be culprits. I guess that it's just major stress.

Best wishes to you!

to PC!

Are you by any chance a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)? Or could you be one and not know it? Check this out http://www.hsperson.com/pages/test.htm

I am a HSP because I am on the autism spectrum. Many people, with or without an ASD, are unusually sensitive to lights, sound, and other stimuli.
