This may be long, but I wanted to share what was on the card my son chose to give me for my birthday that I think can be appropriate even for a Mother's Day card. He always chooses cards with care . . . I've seen him in the card shops. I need to get out and pick up some Mother's Day cards for my mom, MIL, and 96 yo grandmother, who in fact is fantastic for her age, quite an inspiration to our family.
For My Mother First heart to ever love me, first voice I ever heard . . . It's soothing music sweet before I understood a word. First face I learned to recognize, first smile I ever saw, Eyes looking into mine with love and pride and awe. First hands to guide my wobbly steps or swing me to and fro First arms to hold me safe and snug yet leave me room to grow. First confidante to listen to the things I had to say, First friend to know my hopes and dreams . . . first in my heart today. Happy Birthday to the one who first loved me . . . from the one who will always love you. Now after all that typing, I hope this doesn't dissappear to "page not found" or "technical problems with your internet server" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
