I have been seeing a psychologist and it has been helping me quite a bit. But my medicaid won't pay for any more outpatient mental health services until January of next year! i don't know what to do!

There are many things you can do. Don't worry. That is one thing we are all here for is to help each other. With the little I know, I would suggest getting on a schedule and include exercising, eating healthy, meditation, and write daily in a journal. All these things will help out. If you need anything or just want to talk just post a message on here.

I would discuss the situation with the psychologist and see if what you have been paying, the arrangements you've had, will be okay until January. I'd also discuss seeing them less often until January and doing a self-help program like kristimanilla suggests that they monitor when you see them each month on a less frequent schedule or taking a couple month break and saving a little money each month to start back again in November or December, etc. Talk to the psychologist and see what can be worked out.

My dr, petition for services. Yes that means medicaid has more info. about me than I want but anything helps. Look into places that have sliding scale fees for now.

Try looking up clinics in your area for people without insurance. Most doctors of all types do a sort of volunteer program on the side to help people who can't afford it. My Nana's been going to one for her depression since her insurance was canceled.

well. i was able to still get mental health services. through my local DSHS office, i got medicaid and it has two parts to it: community health care, and priority one. well, it was the community health care part that was paying for my mental health visits and they are the ones who told me i had to wait until january. but as it turns out, provider one will help with unlimited visits but it has to be through certain providers-they give you a limited choice basically. they just make it difficult to figure out. but i got it straightened out for now--i will have to go thru a different provider for now, but i heard good things about this one!
