I recently went to my psych doctor.... He told me during the visit "You are on a lot of meds" It used to be when I was sick and taking a lot of stuff I thought it was cool to be on so much. Now I am just wondering can anyone tell me what I should be actually benefiting from being on Risperdal, Depakote, Wellbutrin, Atenolol, Hydroxyzine? I know the basic mental reasons, but I am starting to feel a unwanted norm of a mood coming on lately that hasn't changed. It's not quite parred up with happiness, and it's somewhat boredom, but it's not quite sadness. I don't exactly know what I am going through. I am 27 with Schizzoaffective, Depression problems, and anxiety occasionally. My mood just seems to be off a little and I did just recently go up on Wellbutrin XL dose. Anyone with these similar meds what gets you through each day?

I have recently come to a similar realization. Although we are not doctors and cannot advise you either way about your meds, I can tell you my experience.
I was on Saphris, Klonopin, Ambien, Neurontin, and Buspar... until my pdoc and I found it was giving me depression and was not beneficial. Now I am on Klonopin and Ristoril as needed. I have felt much better, but I would definitely talk to your pdoc about this... express your concerns, and go from there. I hope this helped! Welcome btw... I'm new too, but this is a great forum, there seems to be a lot of caring people.

I have to agree with tipofthetonge. Tell your pdoc you want to have a talk about your meds, and just tell him that you're concerned about all the meds, and how you're feeliing. Hopefully, he'll take a look at all of them and make some changes. It does seem like you're on a lot, and some might even be duplicates.

I wish you the very best -- PLEASE let us know how it comes out, ok? Hugs, Lee

the benefits of these and any other medications varies according to each persons own body and reason for taking them.. basically benefits from medications is subjective to how you feel and what you want to accomplish using them, if you dont feel better and are not accomplishing the meds taking care of the problems you and your treatment provider wants them to take care of talk with your treatment provider, they can adjust, decrease or increase according to your own problems, symptoms...
