I was reading a couple things here about people frustrated and confused by multiple diagnoses as I have been. It kind of makes me feel a little better.

I guess I could approach this by giving more weight to what I think rather than what others think. Has anyone really tried that and does it work?

I think that works better. If you've got some extra money to spend, go get the latest copy of DSM (I think it's like 50 bucks or something). I had fun reading through it, and realized that though I don't fit into anything totally, I have bits and pieces of different disorders, so I am a mutt, so to speak lol

Hi AutoAccount - im a firm believer in letting doctors be doctors but i think its how your illnesses are actually treated which makes all the difference - its the symptoms that need treating, these are what cause people to function less well than before and it doesn't matter if they're given a name or what group of disorders they fit into. And if it happens that your symptoms don't quite add up to a textbook diagnosis or apply to multiple conditions i don't feel this makes someone less treatable. This is just my take on things so im sorry if it doesn't quite give you the answer you were looking for but nonetheless i wish you all the best with your recovery.
