Webster says:

Dream (n.), a fond hope or aspiration; (v.) to conceive of or devise.

Possibility (n.), that which may or can be, that which may or can be done, that which is capable of existing, something that is conceivable.

Magic (n.), producing extraordinary results.

Beliefs (n.) what you hold to be true, your opinions or judgements.

Mistaken thought about dreams - puffy clouds in the sky - beautiful, but unreachable.

Mistaken thought about possibilites - Something that's not impossible. Thinking you can do it IF you can figure out HOW. That is a limiting thought.

Mistaken thought about magic - Not hocus pocus or illusion but "extraordinary results" when you're committed to having, and believe that Anything Is Possible.

If you don't believe you can do it, it's time to change your thinking and self-talk.

Most people don't believe their dreams can come true unless something miraculous happens: if they win the lottery, if Mr. or Ms. Right comes along, or if their stars are aligned in the heavens.

Your dream can be anything from spending more time with family to doubling your bunsiness. Dreams can range from the mundane to the esoteric, and sometimes what you truly want can come as a complete surprise to you.

I think a dream is the entertainment your imagination conjurs for a person when the self is inactive. I always feel like I am diassociated with what is going on in a dream: sometimes I am the spectator, other times I feel like I am observing myself as just another cahracter in the scene. Rarely, do I feel like I am actively influencing the dream (like in a first-person sense).

Hmmm... maybe you're talking about a different kind of "dream." This is about things you want to happen in real life. What's a dream?

Yorkie, maybe you're still not getting the Webster's meaning of "dream." In rereading your post, seems to me you're still thinking of the etherial type of dreaming, like we do while we're asleep. It could be called day dreaming; just a pastime.

If these "day dreams" include how you would like your life to change or be different, then you can start making changes so that some of those "day dreams" can start coming true. It doesn't matter that you see yourself as detached to that vision. You could tell yourself "I want to be like that man I see in my dream" and set about doing what it takes.

Nah, I got the meaning in the first post. I am aware of several different meanings.

I was describing my sensation of dreaming while asleep. Whatever my subconscious could conjur up while in REM sleep. Am I off topic? If so, my apologies. What's a dream?

Not off topic at all! What's a dream? I was just wondering if I had made myself clear. What's a dream?

Yes. In fact, you communicate quite well.

Hmm . . . let's see. The Webster definition makes me think "aspiration," only more deep. Perhaps an avocation, or calling?
