I've tried everything the past few nights. I can't settle. Have to keep getting up as I'm keeping him awake. My visit wants me to stay busy I guess. Meant to be at work for nine but was thinking of going in at six and get it done. I dunno. Just have to accept that my body will sleep when it's tired maybe.

Insomnia is just sux. I really think the more you fight it the worse you make it.
Can you get into a relaxed state by just lying down casually and staring into space or letting your eyes unfocus? That's the next best thing to sleep and sometimes it even leads to sleep. I'm sure others have already recommended herbs and homeopathic substances so I'll refrain. I don't know of any good ones anyway.
Take care

You might have high cortisol levels that are preventing you from sleeping. There's a supplement that is a type of lipid that blocks cortisol called Seriphos [phosphatidylserine]. It's used a lot by athletes as the following articles explains:

http://www.allstarhealth.com/blog/pr...rtisol-levels/

I don't know if you can take it if you're on meds--you'd have to research that.

I gave up and went into work super early. Just got home and realised nobody has spoken to me all day. Perhaps I'm invisible.

I gave up worrying about not sleeping. I went in a few hours early as I had some paper work to to do and I can't deal with it not being up to date.

How do you assert your political viewpoints at work? Or do you just have to remain silent? I've done something so bad

I think it depends on who you would like to assert your viewpoints to. I would say exercise caution, especially if it is your boss. What is it that you've done that you think is bad?

I can relate to that... with me it's usually the result of trying to do something good. There are very few things that can't be worked out. Can you talk about it here?

I don't think you have to be silent but it's a good idea to be prudent and tactful whether you're talking about workplace politics or government politics.
Does this have anything to do with that mess you mentioned?
Thanks for this!

Politics are my Achilles heel. I have a hard time staying calm while discussing them. I only talk to people I know will agree with me. I wish I could stay calm enough to hear the other sides view, but the few times I've attempted it, I've ended up angry. One guy even told me I was evil because of my political views. Evil! Ugh! It's hard for me to stay calm in the face of that.

What did you do that you think is so bad?

I hate that . . . It's like tell me that day not a whole flipping weekend ahead of time so I can analyze it

My union rep has been trying to contact me with 'some important info ' about what happened last week. I can't get hold of her and I'm really scared I'm in trouble. This week past has been awful. Im scared I'm gonna get sacked.

Was that what the management wanted to tell you or was that the info the union rep wanted to pass on. I hope you aren't one of the 20%.

You don't.

Work is for completing... well, work in a professional and timely manner that produces profit for the company. And, getting paid for it.

Politics, dating, and drama have no place in the workplace.
