That's my question.I just wonder, because disorder or not,I think I have it(never been diagnosed though,I don't even know if psychiatrists can diagnose it as a disorder).Basically I am obsessed enough with strangers and I feel dependent to some foreign countries and their ppl and sometimes I ignore my country.I love the country I belong in, but I prefer talking with foreign ppl and I usually became dependent to them.
But do they consider it as a mental disorder? that's sth that I can't figure out.

Evangeline, I am not sure what you mean by "ignoring" your own country for other countries. Is it the culture of the other country that you are attracted to? What is it about the other countries that you feel you are missing from your own life?

I don't know if it's a "disorder"...I guess anything can be labeled a "disorder" if it goes too far / to an extreme. Or if it's disrupting your life.

From my own experience with fascination of foreign lands/people/fashion, I found that once you have lived and/or worked in the foreign country you are so attached to, you may be "cured" of any excessive romanticism.

(I hope others will weigh in)

well... I hope it's not a disorder.

I said in the past that I don't love people, but I love countries.... I do have several countries I love, been to few times and can yak about for hours. And of course countries I "SOOOOOO" want to visit.

Maybe if your country either sucks in a way (bad human rights records, or image in general) or is "boring" (nothing happening, nothing exciting)... it's sorta natural to be wondering how others live. Be sorta jealous.

If so, my country has the disorder. We're totally obsessed with USA.
