That's such a great thought, tomi. Thank you. I fear so much sometimes being like my parents where in the "all about me" stuff. That was cool to read, because in the end I know I've not made it all about me, but sometimes...whew...I can master that too.

That's true, but most probably, it hasn't always been ALL about "me" in that praticular case.
These words came to me just a few minutes ago regarding the two men I've been married to. It's ALWAYS been ALL about them... and now both of them are two, old, alone, unloved, lonely men. Yeah, I know. Lousy choice in men.

It's good to be selfish sometimes. Sometimes it's not about ME enough. Sometimes you need to think of others. Sometimes you need to smack the crap out of them, LOL! (Ok, I don't mean that literally...it's not okay to hit people, unless they're actively hitting you and you have to protect yourself. But sometimes you feel like it!)

I've seen a lot of sweet women (usually spiritual) miss out on some good stuff in life because they are being nice and allow others to routinely take advantage of the niceness or charity. O September I needed that today. It's hard to think about me when I have 3 kids at home. WOW! I am going to write that down and stick it on my bathroom mirror just as a reminder.

Guess I am the selfish one because I have found that I have to be about me. I have tolerated things for so long that I have finally had to decide what ME wants out of life. If the other half decides to want to fit in to what ME wants out of my life then he is welcome to tag along.....otherwise, I refuse to end up miserable trying to continue tolerating what I am so tired of dealing with anymore. I am willing to continue in the relationship given that I want a true partnership. I want a true partnership not just someone I have to tolerate. We are working on it surprisingly....& it seems that little by little I am getting through to him, but the bottom line is that I need what I need in my life......so ME had become very important.
In my situation, my other needs to get in touch with himself instead of living in his own little world of TV & Science Fiction......the real world is something that needs to become a reality instead of a bunch of excuses. ME has had to define what my future has to be & what ME wants out of my life.......I have to admit that I know that sharing life together is what I really want, but without it being a partnership, there is nothing to share.
