Well I was also apprehensive of revealing my illnesses to my friends (I decided to keep it hidden). But if you're afraid of your whole school knowing about it after you tell one friend, well are you sure you wan't to tell that one friend?
Hell, I understand wanting to express yourself to close friends, but I've been burnt by people I've told my ailments to, so be careful who you do reveal it to, people who don't understand can be judging folk.
Also QLD boy! Well I'm a Sydney boy.

TheOtherGuy,

I have to agree with mrb81 that if you are not confident in this person's integrity, maybe you should put off telling this person. Or maybe you can start by telling this person a non-secret to see if it gets around. Are you in high school or college? Is there anyone else you can confide in, like maybe some sort of professional. I've been out of HS for a while, but don't they have guidance counselors? I think colleges are required to have mental health personnel on site. Good luck!

I was in ur same situation. I was out for half a yr due to issues, and I was so afraid to come back because that meant I would have to give an explanation. The way I did it was go vague. Tell the person that you hav some things you are working on, and that the best thing they could do to help you is to not ask you questions. really, ppl are just concerned, and if you say that you are ok, that you are getting help, that is all that they will care about. and before you know it, they will move on.

for the ppl that you are closer to, tell them as much as you want. if the are really friends, they wont blab it all over school if you ask them not to.
