I haven't kept anyone informed about my 5 year old buddy who lost part of his foot in a lawn mower accident. He may be coming home tomorrow. He had a skin graft from his thigh and that is causing him tremendous pain. He does not understand about what has happened and he will be using a wheel chair for a while. He has received hundreds of cards and the match box cars I sent were a hit. He plays with them on the bed table. He will need orthodics and to learn to walk again. He will do it, this kid is so amazing. I realize how precious the time is with young children as they develop so fast and each day has an impact.

That said I remember being a dead soul teen who learned to love and be loved by my precious friend who never even thought she was doing something out of the ordinary.

And so there is hope. Little friend will come home and I can play with him and read stories. If we play memory he will win. Oh well, suck it up WW, a five year old has more brain cells. Thanks to all who have cared and please be sending loving thoughts to this family with 7 beautiful, well-loved children and their parents. Beautiful kids and I am happy the end of the suffering is soon to come.

oh I am so glad he is going to be ok and coming home soon! being layed up in a hospital is hard enough on an adult but for an active child it can be very hard. I will keep him in my prayers for sure.

OMG Wisewoman! Dont mean to hijack your thread here but this brings back memories! This happened to a family member on hubbies side years ago. Only it was out of negligence on the fathers part. He and the woman he was having an affair with were off somewhere and he left the key in the rider mower . His daughter got on there turned the thing on and then slid off it . This was before there were safety features ! She was 3 and a half! She didnt make it. Little boy with lawn mower accident. I am sorry to hear about your buddy. That is really sad. But I am glad that he is still alive and you can enjoy eachothers company. Little boy with lawn mower accident. That is the best thing that came out of this whole thing!

Thanks, I know that he won't remember most of this and that the drugs will make the memories of the pain fade. I am hoping he is home today so I can drop off a bunch of drawing, coloring stuff.

Home today with a wheel chair and daily dressing changes. Most of the big toe side of the foot is gone. He is going to be okay and I am relieved and I am so happy to speak with his mom.
