Healing Hands.......

Touch is a basic human instinct each of us is born with.
Reaching out and touching another person is a universal action that offers love and caring.

Holding Hands

Likely, it was your mother or father who first held your hand when you began taking baby steps. Having a parent hold your hand while you were out in the world made you feel safe, protected from any harm. Later, hand-holding was likely done in friendship with your schoolmates or siblings. Hand-holding during the dating scene was a whole new experience that made your heart skip a beat or two.
.... Holding hands is definitely a heart-connected activity!

Playing With Your Hands

Stoop down to the ground and get your hands dirty. Go ahead, a little dirt under the fingernails won't hurt you. Using your hands in some form of play activity is one of the best ways of communicating with that child who resides within. It's not a good idea to neglect your inner child.

Hand Gestures

If you are like me, communicating with your hands comes second nature to speaking with your voice. Through certain gestures we can convey affirmative and healing messages. These simple hand gestures are blowing kisses, clapping your hands to show appreciation, giving someone a thumbs up, and so on.

Prayerful Hands

The intention of closed eyes during prayer is to quiet the mind whereas the intention of two hands placed together during prayer is to quiet the physical body's activities. When the mind and hands are silenced the spirit is allowed a more focused communication with a place of knowing.
.... This knowing place may be called God, Buddha, higher self, nature, or whatever term fits within your beliefs.

Creating With Your Hands

The "handiest tools" (pun intended) for creating things are our hands. Self healing will often occur during the process of creating something with your own hands. Plus there is much satisfaction that comes from being the creator of something. We are all artists in some fashion or other.

Making Music With Your Hands

Being the musician who is playing the music can take sound therapy to a whole different level. With your hands serving as your therapist you can vent heartfelt emotions while playing the notes on the musical instrument of your choice.

Nurturing Hands

We often think of the "mother figure" as our primary nurturer. There are many reasons for this, but one is because of the nurturing tasks mothers perform with their hands which show us how much they love us. It is our mothers' hands that tucked us in at bedtime when we were children. Mothers handcraft clothing to keep us feeling cozy and warm. A mother prepares delicious home cooked meals with her hands to nourish our bodies.
.... I'm not discounting all the caring fellows in our midst, both genders possess nurturing hands. But, moms especially seem to have a knack for nurturing.

Hands-On Healing

There are a variety of hands-on techniques that holistic heath practitioners are trained in using to bring about a healing response from their clients.... used to relax and revive your soul with.
