What is the disorder called when you like to give presents to people and you get upset when the opening of your gift is delayed? Also, what is so bad about that?

[The individual feels that his or her feelings and/or experiences are detached, distant, etc. and at the same time the individual perceives that objects, people, and/or surroundings seem unreal, distant, artificial, colourless, lifeless, etc.]

sounds like some form of dissociation, but the first part of your post is imho simply being a kind person and impatience

Haha. I like giving presents. I don't like getting presents though. I get all awkward and don't know a decent way to accept it without going overboard. And I don't like when someone pays for my meal or coffee either. But I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority here...

I don't think this by itself would qualify as any kind of mental illness though.

i am exactly the same whoswho, i love giving gifts, but get all embarrassed on the very rare occasion anyone gives me one, i nearly passed out when i was unexpectedly awarded a volunteer of the year award last year cos i had to go up front of around 30 people to receive it! talk about wanting the ground to open up and swallow you!

Disorder? Hmmm IDK but anger management will help.

We all need to receive some good attention in our lives... and I care that it seems you don't receive enough. Hopefully, the replies to your thread will help you feel better about yourself... thanks for sharing!
