Is there a place to talk for people whose family members are in the news? I can't talk to friends. They are too repulsed. And it doesn't help that I very mixed, very intense feelings about the family member. Very depressed.

I'm not sure there is a specific place here. But you can start a forum thread if you want wider input, or if you wish it to be more private, I'm sure most members here would be willing to talk to you via private message about it.

ArthurDent (Great username!)
I don't really have questions to which I'm seeking an answer. It's just really depressing to see a relative in the news painted in a very, very negative light. I hope they don't see the news coverage. They're already on the edge of suicide. (Asked me best way to do it.) |

I understand that. All you can do is remind them that it is your relative in the news. It's not them . They are not guilty by association. I hope it passes soon for you/them.

Sorry. I was unclear. I'm hoping that the person *in the news* doesn't see the news coverage. And despite me being one of their victims, I never wished this for them. This is affecting me much more than I thought it would.

Oh ok. I understand better now. Sorry about that. I understand the mixed feelings, too. That's a tough one. I hope the coverage will pass quickly and the media will move on to the next thing...
If you need to vent about it, you are welcome to private message me. |
