Ok I hate labels but here's me or should I say parts of me: Have ADD, PTSD, DID, gender identity garbage, same sex attraction struggles, body image issues, major depression for 26 years or so, alcoholic, sexual, emotional/verbal abuse survivor. And more.

I'm 39 now.

This seems too much. :-/

That is a lot to deal with. I assume you are getting professional help for the labels. I really like your name--and I truly believe you can overcome or at least be able to get to the point where you can cope sufficiently. Hang in here, and use us for support. We care.

I just turned 45 a couple of weeks ago. I have several labels, too, although I'm not as anti-label as some. Some labels are good, some give us identity. But some labels are bad (and sometimes wrong), so to me, it's a matter of having the right good labels.

I have panic disorder, OCD, depression, phobias, and ADD. I also have self-esteem issues and problems with body image.

I'm a little confused by what is meant by gender identity garbage. Other than that I must say I agree a lot with Maven in knowing the difference in the labels and we all are categorized by something. It's human nature, our brains spend majority of the time solving patterns. What you see, for example, is a puzzle created by separate beams of light being reflected and bounced off lens backwards and upside down and your brain solves that puzzle in microseconds allowing you to visually process your surroundings. With that said, your brain is designed and highly equipped to take a lot of information in and categorize it so it can best be retained. That comes out in how we view and treat others in the world, thus generating labels.

Let's see, my labels are: Depressed, Eating Disorder, 'possibly' Bipolar, Lesbian (possibly Bi-curious/confused), Daughter, Girlfriend, __ Head
Thanks for this!
