There is a recall of batteries placed in DELL laptops... a rash of exploding, burning batteries... causing major damage has been happening.

Dell says STOP using the batteries NOW.

What I haven't heard Dell say though, is these batteries are made by SONY???? IDK. I have a Toshiba notebook and complained months ago that it doesn't run as cool as it should... (centrino intel etc)

I wonder if when I finally get to the repair place if the guys will look at me like Lady, it ain't a Dell what cha worryin about??? Laptop batteries burning... grrrr

I read that on the net months ago and then saw it on TV today. I have one and you do got to give them breaks they can get real hot, as with most Tech. But the same batteries are in kids stuff too like Game boy Advanced SP! They have not had many Problems. SO ??? Maybe it is the amount of use put to the Tech?

The same batteries are in other laptops and pcs. Dell is just the first company issuing a recall.
