I always get 'stuck' on a particular song. Why? Does anyone else do this? Is it normal?

I simply cannot change it, so i put it on repeat if i realise that i'm stuck on it.. or i always go back onto it when the song ends. i've been listening to this one song on repeat for the past three or so hours without stopping, and yesterday for around the same amount of time.

I want to listen to other songs but my mind won't let me.... it sounds weird and discordant if I change songs... and I keep on skipping until I get the point and go back to that song.

I do that too. But mostly it is stuck in my mind - I can go for days and keep thinking about it and hearing it playing in my head. Especially certain parts of a song stucks with me... when I woke up just now I realized that I have the same song atuck as yesterday, and that I subconsciously have hade it in my mind all night.

I listen to music almost too often to experience that but I also get it stuck in my head without my ipod.

Especially when i'm at school

I often put a song on repeat and listen over and over and over again.

I do that. The song will change after a few days or weeks. There's always one song I keep coming back to.

I had one song that I dreamed about and I'd wake in the night and it would be playing in my head. I often would put a song on repeat all the way to/from work (half hour drive) and play it for days. I have to laugh sometimes, when I start something new or am challenged, a particular song will start; I have particular songs for "occasions".
