Hi.

Recently I experienced an incident of police brutality in which two 230 pound officers, each with a vice grip on my forearms, put me face first on the ground.. shattering both my elbows in the process.

This stemming from approximately 10 minutes earlier when an officer stopped and questioned me. The officer appeared more than concerning and I inquired about backup. Then the others arrived.

There were a total of 5 officers present when this happened, the lightest one being approximately 200 pounds. (I am avg weight - far less).

Anyone else experience something like this? I'm told I have no recourse, even though I'm disabled for life.

Wow, that is a heck of a story. Are you in the USA? In the US you have recourse. I think you need to find a lawyer and maybe do an out of state thing (I know it can happen if you and lawyer feel you will not get a fair hearing). If you are not in the US then you have to check your local laws and lawyers.

I do say though that we only have one side of the story. I usually believe half of what I hear, it has worked out for me quite well. I know the police have and can be brutal (I have taken a night stick to the back of the legs a few times when I was younger). There is a lot of details you are leaving out whether on purpose or what ever reason.

Did the police get called about you and why? Did they just pull up on the street and start beating you? Were you drunk in a bar or elsewhere and causing problems?

respond with EQUAL (NOT GREATER) force - Example - no matter what even if the officer is loosing the fight - you don't even consider taking out a gun, if all your "suspect" has is his fists, or a knife - if they have a knife, then I whole say the cops can use a knife, but one about the same size, exc. (basically, have them bound to "fair fight" that also means no 5 people for one person - solely one on one if it gets to that point - except if the suspect has friends - but then if they don't help - basically, one cop for one person period.
Without any thing to Prove it was necessary, I believe the cops, or cops that did it, ought be personally civilly liable, and no way to get out of it. (Basically something even more unforgivable, even through bankruptcy than a student loan is. - AND I said personally, so it's the individuals not the department that takes the fall. BUT that's just the start - also perhaps criminal charges......
Now I don't know your situation, but that in general is my view.
I recently saw a report in a court where a security against has accused of sexual assault while preforming a search - fort of besides I don't believe in any search anywhere without a warrant (way I avoid a lot of places) obtained with transcript so the warrant itself can maybe be tossed later (and there by any "evidence" obtained by it dose not exist) - above and beyond all that - they arrest that woman but not the cop accused - THAT IS REPRESENTABLE.
Anyone else would have been picked up right away just because someone said that, - that cop should have been treated absolutely the same way they would treat Joe Blow accused of the same thing! - There can't be even one exception ever, or the whole system is corrupted as far as I am concerned!
