tomorrow Dad will have his surgery at 12pm. please please keep him/us in your prayers. this is very risky for him and I am really afraid. thank you all so much.

you all are so good here! thank you all so very much. tonight was very hard to leave him knowing this time tomorrow it will be alot worse than right now. I love him so much. he is the best dad in the world!

ok Dad had his bypass yesterday and they only had to do 3.!! Praise God for prayers. I saw him this morning sitting in a chair!! Can we get an AMEN? I know he is still not out of danger but he is looking better and talking to us now. Please continue those prayers that all goes well from here. They are giving him some blood right now but otherwise seems to be doing ok. Thank all of you for all your support and prayers. Love you all so much!

mel thanks! I cried last night when I saw him!!
tomi thanks hon!! I know he is still in danger but I am really encouraged. yesterday right before they took him down it was him me and my stepmom alone with him. he started telling us what to do with all his stuff. he was planning on not coming back to us. he even told the transport guy that he was going HOME. we know what that means. he was crying so hard he couldn't talk. I told him this morning he was stuck with us for alot longer lol

It amazes me sometimes how we all fear the worst. I am so glad that he made it through the surgery.. who knows he may have been "visited" while in surgery...

Dad didn't do so good yesterday but today he was better with some of the tubes removed! woo hoo. he isn't eating very well but that is normal. they still didn't move him out of cvicu though
 maybe tomorrow!I am sick so couldn't stay with him today either. waaaaaaaaaa

Bebop,
Glad to hear that your Dad made it through the bypass surgery ok. I have found that the 3rd day after a surgery is always the worst day for some reason. It has been true for every surgery I have had & same when my Dad had bypass too. It starts getting better after that & once the body is on it's own without all the crummy tubes, everything starts getting much better. I know that for my Dad, they had to figure out the right meds to help his heart work right even after the bypass. He had a heart attack before the surgery & they had to wait until he was well enough to have the surgery. That was over 20 years ago, so I am sure they have improved things much more since then. When they did my Dad's surgery, they ran his blood out of his body & back in to bypass the heart while they were doing the surgery.....don't know if they do that anymore. I know my Dad was up the next day sitting in a chair. It is good for the body to move around as soon as possible after the surgery. Hope everything is continuing well for your Dad.....my prayers are with your dad, Debbie
