society can be quite strange sometimes. if two guys are close to each other, then they'll imply that they're ... well you know how it is. what about men in other countries who stand close to each other when they talk? I mean, that's part of their culture, and what are you going to say?

I have a friend that went to Iran (we are Americans), and he said it was amazing how ingrained certain ideas are that he didn't realize, and reference the ones you've mentioned. Men hold hands, hug, are close, and greet with kisses on the cheek. It sounds so....well, foreign!

not to sound provocative or anything but for some reason our society thinks it's a gay thing and i'm just like dude, there's nothing wrong with that. they think that practicing such behavior will induce more illicit acts but in truth these notions are just in their heads.

I was reading about this the last time. they say it's perfectly normal for arab men to hold hands, kiss on the cheek, and stand close when they're speaking to others.

Different cultures have differing expectations on what is normal and what isnt. Men holding hands in africa is just a sign of affection. Sometimes not to burp after a meal is offensive. The list is so long.

Judging people in your own society may mean you have got it right or got it totally wrong. To assume is to make an *** out of u and me.
