Here's a question for you...
"Did man form the weapon, or did weapon form the man?" Was the use of weapons the key to our evolutionary success?

No I am not trying to "stir" any pot bubbling or not.
Is this forest or trees? There is a quality i refer to as persistence, but how to explain persistence w/o theory? Here goes, in Waziristan, among the Taliban, they preach the Koran. Spouting evolution is not advisable. Having been on the wrong end of many different clubs, i know how that works, but, no details please. There's human terms. But then, there's clubs, an there's clubs. Wham Bam an cliques an the sound of a thousand minds slaming shut. But under your skin if this gets in it would fester all semester Some things I say in a sterile way because the fertile febrile receipt might misconstrue. Were this you nothing I can do that's too true to. But, for example, most manic behavior is dependence oriented. That is, primary dependence oriented. Did nobody ever mention the relationship between dependence and depression? You could look it up. Lessee- UCLIUP? or, LIUP? or, - Depression and mania: re: bipolar? So what's wrong with describing the functions of dependence? Let's call it the origins of dependence. That is to say, behavioral dependence, or dependence drive as opposed to biological dependence. So what's my point in saying something that I know won't be instantly appreaciated? So what's your point in complaint? I think i already answered that. Well, mustn't tarry! Must get down to oyster beach. The hogs are running! |

(socialization as sexual selection) The brain invented weapons. Is socialization a weapon? Well- what makes an army cohesive is what makes it effective and that thing is a process. The process is socialization as competitive sexual selection. What happens is the price of admission, or continued membership, is maximized to the point of risking mortality and even the society. But, what I really want to know is- Are pretty girls weapons? Hey - I'm serious. "Is that a pistol in your pocket, or...?" Mae West. If this clock is right this place is four minutes from closing until Thursday. |

Uri..."I hypothesise"....Why are you spending your time here? How about telling us about yourself!? Do you have family? Are you in a relationship? What are your motivations for posting such obscure responses.
The military...is the indoctrination about sexual selection? or domination, or brainwashing to create a cohesive fighting machine which follows orders without question. Your last response seems so off-the-wall and undecypherable that I am wondering if you are an intellectual "mole" seeing how many foolish responses you will receive to your postings. Patty |

Is it Thursday yet? I don't want to talk about why pretty girls..I want to talk about where the good guys are.
We were created as dependant creatures. Every part of our being is dependant upon everything else being just exactly as it's needed in the scientific world. I can't change any of that, so I don't bother worrying about it. I probably thought about it a lot in times past, though ![]()

You are to focused on the fruedian theory of life!!! According to Robert Audrey it is not sex, but territory that drives animals and people. In a study they put two groups of baboons on an island and they seperated and each lived in their own territory. Every morning all of them would stand and yell at each other over the borders, but when a female was in heat it was a free for all. Both had enough females and food. A very dominant male took over the one tribe and he started to extend his territory... for nothing else that just that, territory.
As for weapons, man needed weapons to survive, the forming of the weapon forced them to think more... evolving the brain, with a more evolved brain they could form more sophisticated weapons and so the circle continues untill today. Sex is just a basic drive to ensure survival, but it's not the dominant force. Poor and uneducated people have more sex than their higher class counterparts... why is that? The more sophisticated man gets, the more his dirve turns toward money to enlarge his territory.

You are clearly inebriated by the flow of your own verbosity. Unfortunately, simply having swallowed a dictionary does not necessarily qualify one to opine.
I do advise caution when tempted to quote archaic excogitations. Lucretius also offered as proof of his theory of infinity that if the universe were finite and therefore contained, it would then have a bottom where all matter would necessarily fall into a single, large heap. |
