ok so here it is i am completely unsure of any diagnosis. all my therapist tells me is i have a severe form of anxiety and am really depressed. i have never been tested that i know of for any other mental health problems. i know i struggle with anger and sometimes i just get so angry i have to lash out. since i know i dont want to hurt anyone i care about i punch inanimate objects such as boxes full of stuff. i used to do what i call bleeding the anger. it worked really well for me but i know i cant do that. my thought go 1000mph. i have problems sleeping always have. there are periods of time i cant remember anything such as where i am what i was doing or any content of some days. i see the bad in everything and everyone, the slightest things will trigger my anger. i am extremely hyper usually even when i am totally tired. any thoughts or ideas are welcome.

Ask your therapist for more information on your diagnosis. In mental health, what matters is not really what exact diagnosis you have, but that treatment is helping you. We don't treat diagnoses. We treat people. A diagnosis is nothing more than a shorthand way of describing what problems you might be having and why you are in therapy. Many therapists don't do any formal tests, but get to know what is important to you by talking with you. They may be able to identify that you have depression and anxiety, and that is enough to work from, although after they know more, they may be able to narrow it down further or identify other problems.

Consider getting a second opinion.

How long have you been in therapy. So far your therapist has identified two symptoms a sign he/she is working to help you. Often it takes many visits. And some times the T is not forth coming unless you specifically ask.

You already have a diagnosis by the sounds of it, Depression and Anxiety, why do you want to add more labels to yourself? Its possibly any other issue you have a directly related to depression and anxiety and your doc doesnt need to put any more labels on you. Labels can be counterproductive for many people. Some will start displaying symptoms just from reading up on extra diagnosis. I totally understand why some therapist and pdocs will not give out that info.
