For as long as I can remember, going to the barber's was the worst experience of my life. I remember since I was 9. The pain still happens to me when I get it cut nowadays, I've just kinda learned how to suppress it a little. I'm not really sure what it is, but if someone is behind me, I get this painful sensation behind my left ear on my neck, and this pain also resonates in my left bum cheek, It sounds even weirder writing this down but I have no clue what it is, I did a test with my friend to try figure it out.

I faced with my back towards him and he moved towards me and the painful sensation started happening, I don't know what it is !

Earlier today I put on some headphones and started listening to an affirmation video and whenever the guys voice came into the left of my ear, I would get the same painful sensation, I hope I'm explaining this enough to maybe get some help but anything would be appreciated.

The mind is a very complicated thing and, sometimes it does strange and unfamiliar things. I have experience a similar kind of pain because of my brain injury. Your pain may be your brain over reacting to unbalanced stimulation of your auditory system. This pain can be evaluated if you see the right kind of doctor. You would probably want to start with a neurologist. Depending on where you live, a pain specialist would be even better. Also look for medical studies in neurological pain where you might find a study you can participate in.

If you don't have the resources to find these kind of specialist, ask your family doctor about a drug called Gabapentin which is a generic for Neurontin. It's a commonly used drug that helps quiet down the misfiring neurons and nerves. It is often used by people with brain and nerve injuries for pain control.

I just wanted to say that I can relate a bit to what you are saying. You don't sound strange to me at all.

I have similar things happen to me. I have a hard time with anyone sitting behind me or coming into my "personal space"-- which is rather extended. I tend to have a physiological response in which I get the whooshing sound in my ears, rapid heart-beat and general feeling of panic.

Maybe this is the case for you? Might be something you would want to see someone about?
