Hey everyone,
All of the topics about intrusive thoughts I see on here are about harming people, relationships, or doing bad things to yourself. I myself can't shake the fear of getting disfigured, but no one else seems to have fears about bad things happening to themselves? Okay yeah there are people with fear of accidents, getting in crashes etc. But it seems, with my fear of disfigurement, I'm the only one in this category? This makes me doubt if it's even OCD... so my question is: can intrusive thoughts truly be about anything? |

Yes, I believe they can be about anything. Mine circle like a merry-go-round. I fear being broke, something happening to my daughter, having some debilitating illness that makes it where I can't care for myself and that is just the bigger things. I call it my brain chatter and when it is in high gear it is hard for me to listen in a conversation which makes me irritable.

I have a little bit of schizoid personality disorder so I have some rather vibrant internal machinations. My intrusive thoughts can be anything from cyborgs and trolls to self-defeating thoughts.

Yeah, intrusive thoughts can not only come from nowhere, but they can be about anything.
