Lately I have really been irritable. I get angry over the littlest of things. With people, I don't give the much of chance. I just get angry at then. Like today, I was angry my friend for something just really. It doesn't take me long to get angry.

I'm having the same trouble especially with my husband, over the least little things. I'm keeping watch because when I have a mixed mood that happens. Hope you feel more serene soon.

Totally ignorant response warning................
I wonder if this is a trait of BPD (which I have). In my feeble mind - it follows the 'drive people away and then freak out when they leave' trait. |

I have very little patience(if any), with people. If they don't agree with me, I get angry. If they do something I don't like I get angry.Im also really sensitive though that's talked about it a different thread.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh yes, without a single doubt, I'd say and agree that severe irritable outbursts ARE a big part of BPD. I was obviously born with the much dreaded disorder, suffered it's many symptoms for 30 years, but due to useless Psych Dr's, wasn't actually officially diagnosed until approx. three years ago! That's an awful lot of years to have been known as a 'serial time waster' and an expert 'attention seeker'. But hay ho, 'cos I was, and still am, simply an angry irritable person - plain and simple! That's the latest 'professional experts' diagnosis! It seems that the S.I. which is how I stop myself being irritable/rude or aggressive to other folk, is fine - I'm told the answer is to 'control' myself and in whatever way doesn't matter. Of course it's not just peeps with BPD who are irritable, of course not, anybody can and does get irritated, animals get irritated too. Maybe it's simply the way in which we deal with is questionable. I hate been irritable for much of the time but hay - that's how it is and feels as though it always has been. So yeah, I'm understanding your comments here. HUGZZ xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ![]() |

someone irritable? just here to defend UM, I think the intention was clear, and I got a chuckle out of it. I think the "rationale" is that some BPD behaviors/moods are common for periods of time during adolescence, so they want to avoid "labeling" to early...

Why 18? Most 18 year olds are not adults at that age. Adulthood in my opinion comes in your early to mid twenties.

This is true, and recommendations may need to change; it hasn't been so very long ago that it was realized that the brain continues to develop/mature into the 20's....The age pick is, as all numbers are applied to drugs/legal issues etal, in part arbitrary.
