Folk-Emo ("cog rock?")
Will to Passion If I lost faith in tomorrow Would I have no need for dreams If I gave in to my sorrow Would my world be truly as it seems If I gave up my illusions Would I have to give up hope If I asked for even more time Would I just be asking for more rope The odds were in my favor And I lived 'til I got old This is the path I’ve chosen razor's edge between the frightened and the bold All lives are rendered incomplete By choices we must make Don’t tell me that I’ve sold out it’s what keeps me going; life’s a give and take If I turned towards religion Would it surely save my soul Or give me clarity of vision Is happiness a realistic goal If I exorcised my demons Would I gain the strength to care If I turned to dark self-loathing Would I find my motivation there I dreamed I was a doer, But I could not make it last I poured another beer and I sat there waiting hoping it would pass And pondered schemes for bringing Even more comfort my way In a fog of indecision, I could change my life, but not today 10 million upturned bushel baskets See them every day So afraid to live and die find some distraction; it will go away 10 million stillborn adults Daily mourn what could have been Will they find their will to passion Sharing gifts or failing to begin If I made some small concession Could a different tale unfold If I raged against depression Would it make me feel a bit less cold If I overcame my history Could I find a better way Can I quickly solve this mystery 'cause My calendar gets thinner by the day Two roads before me lay and I will Take the one less travelled by And it may make no difference Then again it may but first I have to try A pattern of decisions I look back across the years It's not all or nothing now I realize I'm bigger than my fears If I lost faith in tomorrow If I gave in to my sorrow If I gave up my illusions If I turned towards religion If I exorcised my demons If I made some small concession If I raged against depression If I overcame my history |

PETER GABRIEL LYRICS
~ "Don't Give Up" ~ in this proud land we grew up strong we were wanted all along I was taught to fight, taught to win I never thought I could fail no fight left or so it seems I am a man whose dreams have all deserted I've changed my face, I've changed my name but no one wants you when you lose don't give up 'cos you have friends don't give up you're not beaten yet don't give up I know you can make it good though I saw it all around never thought I could be affected thought that we'd be the last to go it is so strange the way things turn drove the night toward my home the place that I was born, on the lakeside as daylight broke, I saw the earth the trees had burned down to the ground don't give up you still have us don't give up we don't need much of anything don't give up 'cause somewhere there's a place where we belong rest your head you worry too much it's going to be alright when times get rough you can fall back on us don't give up please don't give up 'got to walk out of here I can't take anymore going to stand on that bridge keep my eyes down below whatever may come and whatever may go that river's flowing that river's flowing moved on to another town tried hard to settle down for every job, so many men so many men no-one needs don't give up 'cause you have friends don't give up you're not the only one don't give up no reason to be ashamed don't give up you still have us don't give up now we're proud of who you are don't give up you know it's never been easy don't give up 'cause I believe there's the a place there's a place where we belong |

How about ANGIE BABY!!!! the first time i heard that song I was like that is freaky!!!!! Have you heard it? In case you haven't here are the lyrics
You live your life in the songs you hear on the rock and roll radio and when a young girl doesn't have any friends thats a really nice place to go folks hoping you'd turn out cool but they had to take you out of school you're a little touched you know angie baby lovers appear in your room each night and they whirl you across the floor but they always seem to fade away when your daddy taps on your door angie girl are you alright? tell the radio goodnight all alone once more angie baby Chorus angie baby you're a special lady living in a world of make believe well maybe stopping at her house is a neighbour boy with evil on his mind cos he's been peeking in angie's room at the night through her window blind I see your folks have gone away would you dance with me today I'll show you how to have a good time angie baby ( angie baby ) (angie baby ) when he walks in the room he feels confused like he walked into a play and the music's so loud it spins him around till his soul has lost it's way and as she turns the volume down he's getting smaller with the sound it seems to pull him off the ground toward the radio he's bound never to be found the headlines read that a boy disapeared and everyone thinks he died except a crazy girl with a secret lover who keeps her satisfied it's so nice to be insane no one asked you to explain radio by your side angie baby Chorus angie baby you're a special lady living in a world of make believe well maybe well maybe well maybe well maybe

sky are you taking about the SheDaisy song that says:
You always said that I have multiple personalities I bounce around somewhere between my dreams and reality So where'd you dig up the odacity to ask me How we've all been doin since you broke our hearts? Well so far... Chorus: Number 5 just cries a river a minute 7 wants to tie you up and drown you in it, yea 14 just wants to say so long bygones 32 wants to do things to you that'll make you blush 10 will key the el camino that you love so much And there aint nobody wants to mess with 23 Oh, Lucky for you, tonight I'm just me I guess this party is more than your new barbie bargained for She's got you by the sleeve, slowly easin towards the door She's probably right, you should be movin on Dont know how long we can behave Better have the vallet get your car! 'Cause you know how women are Repeat Chorus Forgiveness is the key, According to my shrink But its not just up to me I dont know girls, what do ya think? Repeat Chorus (Until end)

"It's All in Your Head" Diamond Rio
Momma died young giving birth to a son In a home for wayward girls. Daddy was a sidewalk, soapbox preacher Looking forward to the end of the world. Every Friday night he'd pick a fight Down at the local pool hall, Racking up souls condemning all those Caught behind the eight ball. He said "I preach for the light -- the light shows the way; Don't ever trust what the government say. We never walked on the moon; Elvis ain't dead; You ain't going crazy' ... It's all in your head." Lucy was a messed up, dressed up waitress With a almighty tarnished heart of gold. She wasn't half bad for a new step momma As far as step momma's go. Daddy kenw she was the one as he baked in the sun In a parkin' lot preachin' the truth.. Up shot her hand as she cried, "Oh, man, I feel it, yes, I feel it, I do! It's been revealed to me down deep in my soul There were two shooters on the grassy knoll: We never waled on the moon; Elvis ain't dead; You ain't going crazy; It's all in your head." Let us sing! It's all interpretation. To find the truth you gotta read between the lines. Work out your own salvation. That narrow path is hard to define. Heaven's more than a place; It's a state of mind. In his quest for truth Daddy was moved by the spirit To take up a snake. In a moment of doubt the venom turned out Stronger than Daddy's faith, But I'll never forget his dying breath, The last words that he said, "We never walked on the moon; Elvis ain't dead; You ain't going crazy; It's all in your head..." Let me tell ya! It's all interpretation. To find the truth you gotta read between the lines. Work out your own salvation. That narrow path is hard to define. Heaven's more than a place... It's a state of mind... State of mind..... |

Can't remember the song's titles, but many Pink Floyd's albums/cd's fit this, besides Dark Side of The Moon and Division Bell, The Who's "Quadrophenia" has several cuts on it that also relates. Jimi Hendrix's really fit in with post topic. Hotel California by The Eagles, was believed to represent a mental institue, or being a prisoner in one's own mind, the more I think about the symbolisms, I think there is something to it.
Cool, topic, Rhapsody. ![]()

hmm, I'd have to say When Angels Deserve to Die, SOAD (System of a Down), and Falling away from me Korn....kinda rough rock there, but when I'm down and angry I listen to these types of songs.
