Hi
I'm just wondering if anyone out there is suffering with TS or knows someone who is. My father has it and it never really fizzed me or interested me until I became an adult. Now I'm always looking up info. He didn't want to talk about his twitches when we were children. He is much more open about it now. Apparently he has mild tourette. He is on clonazapam/klonipin. I was wondering is OCD was a partner with TS. I"m pretty sure he has OCD as well. I dont know if all TS suffers have OCD too. I was also wondering if it was heriditary. My daughter doesn't have it but I have two small nieces and am hoping they dont get it. He can be hard to live with but we all love him. I also heard that it derives from Nova Scotia. Anybody have info I'd be interested in hearing it. "you only have one chance to make a first impression"

hi willoughby, just saw you in chat. I know there has been some tourettes discussion here in the recent past.
i did a quick seach on this site for the word "tourette" on "all forums" and going back "6 months" (a little longer then I've been here) and came up with a few hits. People here are open to talking about stuff and also may be able to find the information you are looking for. I do believe that Tourettes is tied in to OCD. I have never heard about Nova Scotia that would be interesting to learn. Good luck here, this is a very supportive place. Hopefully it will be informative for you too. -- The world is what we make of it -- -- Dave -- http://www.idexter.com

Hi Heather
I live in NS as well. I heard that it actually derived from Cape Breton. And coinsidently that's were my fathers mother came from. Also I have friends in MA and they have a son with it and his grandparents come from CB as well. (they are not related to me) I was sure that in the past I heard that. I'm going to check into it now. It's getting more publicity now. There are a couple of commercials on tv. If you have any info I'm be glad to hear it. "you only have one chance to make a first impression"
