I'm sorry if this is the wrong thread. : ( I can't find one on here that deals with misophonia. I'm not sure if I have it and I hope you will all forgive me if this post is stupid or doesn't make any sense.
OK maybe this question is dumb, but I'd like to know. Since the time I was about 10, whenever someone used fillers in their speech, it would cause me to feel extremely angry, frustrated and after only a few minutes I'd feel sick. When I hear these noises I literally feel like screaming . I don't bother people with my problem, I can't expect them to change the way they talk so I keep my mouth shut about this issue, but when people start talking I begin to dread it, knowing they'll start using fillers, and when they to I feel angry and sick to my stomach. I tell myself to ignore it and pretend that the sounds are just sounds, not a big deal bit it doesn't work. So I end up raging to myself and slamming my hand against my bed (privately, so noone can hear), and if I can, I'll usually find a place to sit where I'm away from all the noise, till its over and I can come back out. Sometimes ill turn on fans or appliances to drown the noise out, but if I even hear the faint murmur of someones voice, either in real life or on TV, I turn off the appliance because I'm afraid they're making those noises and I have to see if they are. A lot of times I get indigestion from listening to them. I'm not Sue if its silly of me to be asking this. But its part of the reason I don't talk to people a whole lot.

Hi, I'm sure not a Dr, but from what you've written, it seems you have some symptoms, but I know nothing of self-harm associated with it. I found this site and hope it might help for more information.
