I've never noticed this before. But when I go to my profile, the link at the top of the page that says 'StargazerLily's Profile' and I look to the right of my name it has an "Others Like You" link. WOW. So when did this happen? Nifty thing there.

Just an observation of mine, I might have just missed the memo. The way things have been changing and upgrading around here I guess it's easy to fall behind. A discovery

Well, if I'm in the wrong place, please move me then.

StargazerLily,

Hey! No need to worry.

'Others like me' appeared yesterday. If you click on it , it shows you members who are just like you here at PsychCentral!

I think it is a cool idea and great to know we are not alone. A discovery

is there an opt-out feature to this? or by not entering in additional information is a member here randomly included in the beta version of this new unannounced feature?

glad it works for some. not our cup of tea. may we please opt out?

if you dont want to be part of this format you dont need to fill in the required fields in your profile, it is intended to show you who as the same issues has you to show you you are not alone in here and in life in general.

Send PM

ok.....here's issue....in OUR PROFILE'S LINK to PPL LIKE ME (BETA VERSION) we were one of the thirty ppl displayed........most of the info is already in profile BUT we'd rather that ppl's ability to know WHEN we were last logged in/ON was kept to either their seeing us in Who's Onine screen or to look at our posts to see when we last posted........we do not believe it is anyone's business when we were last logged in lurking the site, reading PMs, tweaking photos, etc.

Previously to this new feature only moderators and admin had the ability to see a member's last logged in time.....now we all have it. To us it is unnecessary erosion of privacy.

Whose random 30 do we show up in? Other ppl who haven't filled in any of the fields?

We totally get networking and how it helps others tremendously...that's super! We're not anti-networking. However not giving ppl an opt out before changing which information (about them) and how it is released to other members doesn't sit well.

giving an opinion. fwiw.

When you enter your profile, there is your avatar on the left... look to the right side, there are those links...

Others Like Me (beta)
