Okay, all of us looking for a job, I need to know where and when is the next meeting? Also, is it a pot-luck lunch or do we order pizza? I plan to go back on public aid, so that will help for food money. I got laid off. We lost contracts and they haven't gotten any new business so people had to go. We've been sitting around on our butts for a long time doing NOTHING. I do welcome this! I'll be able to go out and find a job with real work to do! Grohol's Job Club Will I be able to handle it after being paid to do nothing for so long?! Grohol's Job Club I'll have to go to the unemployement office tomorrow morning since they are closed now. Then I'll register for public aid if I can. Well, got a few more posts to read.

Good luck finding something that you want to do! It sounds like this is not necessarily a bad thing for you - I hope that is so and you are okay.

I can vouch for monster.com, as it's something I've used in the past.

But it can be very frustrating to send out dozens of resumes to positions listed there and not receive a single response. I wouldn't concentrate on that, if you can help it though, and instead just look at it as a part of the day. Don't set any expectations and you won't be disappointed.

Good luck!!

Inky,

Career Builder (careerbuilder.com) is another excellent one. They used to be called Brass Ring, but the story I heard (oohhh, gossip) is that a hacker paid them a visit and caused major havoc. That's not what they told everyone of course. So, they re-designed the site, added some very **** firewalls, and changed their name. They do have a good service though.
