I received my blood work and echocardiogram results.

The echo, thankfully, is almost normal. One side has a slight backwash of blood, but it shouldn't be a problem, at least for now.

My red blood cells are literally twice as thick as the most acceptable level. No wonder I feel like I've got sludge in my veins! I can cut back on my B12 and Folic Acid and hopefully that will take care of that. I have to consult with my nuerologist on Tues., to make sure he's ok with me coming off them. He put me on the B12 for the head injury.

There were other problems, but the RBCs seem to be the most pressing and it can be fixed. Over all, that's good news! An Update on Me

In other words, your blood is too thick. I had the same problem. Your brain isn't getting enough oxygen and your body is trying to make up for it. Don't know if you can take aspirin or not, but that does the trick. ... But then again, that may have been your Dr intention when he put you on the vitamins. Better check with him.

((((((((( Tomi ))))))))))

I always wondered what was wrong with my brain! An Update on Me

I'm only allowed Tylenol because I have to take so much Voltaren for the chest injury. Taking an aspirin is a wonderful idea though and one that would certainly work under normal circumstances.

I will call the pharmacy tomorrow and ask which pill is the B12. They pack my meds in punch through packets for morning, noon and night. I'm not sure which one is the B12, but I did pick out the folic acid this morning.

Hugs,

Jan

I've been so worried that my head injury is worse, but maybe Tomi is right and I don't have enough O2 getting to my brain.

We can hope and pray that's it.

the vit b12 tablet will be the one that tastes like yeast extract, over here they are a jet black pill, and my doc gives them to me when i am on a drinking binge to keep my liver safe, saying that i tryed making prison hootch with them once, man was that a bad idea lol.

this is a problem ( thick blood) that the docs can sort out easy enough with the right lack of meds, (ie cut the b12) hope you feel better soon. they also use wolferine (sp) it is a blood thinner based on rat poision but the drawback sideffect is that if you cut yourself you cant stop bleeding without a shot of vitamin k, which allows the blood to clot again.

good luck in whatever your docs decide to do .
