My friend Cher is supposed to go in the hospital sometime tomorrow for some tests. She gets so sick that she can't fast. She's only been in the hospital once, when she was five. She's terrified.

Her family won't bother to drive here to be with her, so that means I'm going to be taking care of her. Since I'm doing well to take care of myself, that's going to be interesting.

Thank you each and every one. I'll keep you posted on how things go.

Thank you so much. The Dr's staff forgot to call the hospital and the hospital forgot to call the Dr., so we are waiting to be called to know what time she is to be at the hospital. Cher is about to lose it.

Well, we are still waiting for the phone call to tell us to bring her to the hospital. Cher's having a cow and I've been trying to nap all day since we've been up since 7:30.

We're both losing patience.

Cher and I waited until 4:30 and I decided to take matters into my own hands. She is now safely in the hospital. Her nurses are awesome and her room is wheelchair accessible.

I was going to spend the night with her because she's so afraid, but she wanted me to come home and get some sleep so I can be with her tomorrow.

I sat with her while the nurses took her history. I made sure she didn't leave a thing out. lol!

I talked to her mother tonight who tried to make me think she's the Mother of the Year. Oh boy!!!! She got no where with me.

I'll report in as soon as I can tomorrow.

I know exactly what you are going through as I did the same thing for a friend of mine last month who's family was anything but helpful. It certainly is stressful and all, but your heart will sing with joy that you were able to help a dear friend through a frightening experience. You ROCK!

Don't forget to take care of yourself through all this too.

Thank you, my friends.

Cher made it through the test. She was terrified and refused the medicine they wanted to give her before I got there. Well, that was a wrong move.

She had her test and it went well. Her stomach is in good shape and the Dr, (who is my Dr. also), talked to me and he decided to keep Cher for another day or two to do tests on her gall bladder and liver. If something is wrong with the gall bladder, which we highly suspect is true, he will remove it before she comes home.

Cher was doing ok and said she wasn't nauseous and we started to wheel her to the elevator. She told me she was a little sick and the next thing I knew she was vomiting blood everywhere. The attendant went running for a nurse and I grabbed her and pushed her up so she wouldn't choke.

She doesn't remember what all happened. She remembers me saying, "I've got you Cher.", and mercifully she doesn't remember the rest.

Anyway, the Dr. took several biopsies and she was throwing up the clots, bile, etc. They gave her an IV med for nausea and now she's asleep. The staff is to call me if there is any change at all and I will be there.

Cher and I also had a very important discussion. She has agreed to take her medicine and she will take all of it, with no quibbling, period.

Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes. I know they helped more than I can say. Please keep those good thoughts and prayers coming.

Thank you so much. I am very blessed to have Cher for my friend. We watch out for each other. When I'm down sick, she comes in and sits in her chair and watches me to make sure I'm going to be ok.

She got insulted today because the nurse asked if I'm her mother. Considering she looks 12 instead of 27, Cher was highly insulted and I laughed at her.

I've been put on a very strict diet and I've been good to stick right to it. Today after her "incident" I got her upstairs and covered her up and waited until she went to sleep. Then I went down to the cafeteria and had a cheeseburger, a large Pepsi and a slice of red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. I ate and shook for a while.

So much for my diet!! I needed sugar!

The cafeteria is in the basement and it's in a different wing than Cher's room so I had to walk and walk to get there. When I left I took a wrong turn and didn't realize it. I walked and walked and came to a door. I thought it was just a doorway to more of the hall but just before I pushed it open I happened to glance up and the sign on the door said "Morgue"!!!!!!!!! You have never seen anyone reverse her directon so fast!

Cher had her surgery last night. They think she might get to come home today, but we've got to be sure she can use her wheelchair.

She's in pain and nauseated, but in a couple days she'll be just great!

Cher is home. She's tucked into her couch. She's had something to eat and has taken her pain meds. Thank you each and everyone for your good thoughts and prayers for her. Thank you!
