posting picture with user name, how??

many of you have the coolest photos / pictures / cartoons inder your user names, how can i do that?

please write step by step and speak slowly, as my brain is foggy and words get missed or jumbled. ty :wobbly

go to your profile and go to edit preferences, i think.....there are three choices. scroll down and you'll see how to upload an image. i'm really tired, so i hope i've helped you........pat p.s. it has to be thumbnail size for your avatar by your name and can be larger if you use it as your signature.

if you use it as your signature, sign up for an account at photobucket, import an image that you like, link it to PC (it tells you how) and it will show up as your signature..........

Once you've chosen your picture (has to be between 65 and 80 pixels - or smaller)

1/ click on "My Profile"
2/ click on "Edit Personal"
3/ scroll at the bottom of the page (it's the avatar section)
4/ click on "upload your avatar"
5/ click on "browse" (then select the picture)
6/ click on submit

You might need to refresh your browser afterwards, as the avatar might not show immediately.

I personally had trouble trying to upload directly into the avatar area, so I posted my pic first in the gallery and then linked from the thumbnail
