I've spent the last week and a bit with no internet, and it's amazing how depressing it is to be completely cut off from people, information and leisure activities I use the internet for. Apologies to people trying to contact me the last week and a bit I would have responded but I've been a bit cut off. Ah well, back online now

I have phone and internet bundled and am planning on canceling my service when my contract ends in a couple months. I might bundle internet with my cable TV service but haven't decided yet.

This is the only forum I belong to. I don't play online games and haven't had email contact outside of online purchase related correspondence with anyone for years. I do spend several hours a day online but the majority of my activity boils down to checking out news articles of some sort or occasionally watching something on youtube.

I spend almost all my time home alone, with almost no contact with anyone, so it is my window on the world. I've tried going a couple days at a time without turning on the computer playing games or watching movies without missing it, but don't know how completely cutting off service would work out.

I could still go to the library to get online, but it's not like opening your browser from the comfort of your own home, any hour of the day or night.
