Sometimes I need to remind myself of this, that I have a sickness. Sometimes after a long period of stability I take things for granted and maybe test the waters of things I shouldn't be doing which could trigger a relapse. So I need to keep this clear in my mind, I am not like the majority, I'm an outlier, and what might go for someone else just can't fly for me. Had a bit of a scare today, hopefully it just passes. Otherwise gotta go talk to the pdoc again..

it is easy to think we are ok after we have been stable for a while. that is why I try to never forget where I came from. I know it is so important to stay on my meds,

Yes I used to forget quite often what my situation really is and I would act in a manner that either brought on angry outbursts or mania. It takes some training and time to not get into those frames of mind that can cause problems.

Sometimes writing down a list of what sets you off may be helpful.

I think it's easy for me to forget about my illness as well - when I start feeling depressed I can get so wrapped up and dragged down in it that I forget to look at it objectively. Trying to get better about knowing my triggers and preparing in advance for situations that might upset me.

What you said about something not going for one person but for another is true for everyone though, illness or not. It helps me to think of how we are all different and complex. I have different needs than others because of my diagnosis but so do lots of people.

Also people have different needs due to being different individuals, its not always to do with diagnoses or lack thereof. Like two mentally healthy people could have different needs from each other..of course mental state does play a role in what ones needs are.
