I just got back from a visit with my new orthopedist. He is awesome!!! I had gone last year to someone who my GP recommended for my knee pain. Well he told me its tendonitis learn to live with the pain and sent me to physical therapy. Well the physical therapy made the pain worse and I thought well no pain no gain and trudged through it. Well its here a year later and still a huge amount of pain so I thought the new ortho was so good on my ankle pain I'll go see him for my knee pain. I took him my MRI and he looked at it and said you have some osteothingy...in other words a really big long word that DIDN'T sound like tendonitis. I asked him well what do we do for that...he laughed and said I get to scope you again. So I go in for surgery on the 26th. At least I don't have to miss school for it cuz that week is my spring break. What a way to spend my spring break huh? Right now I am trying to figure out how to arrange everything because I was informed that I can't walk on it after surgery until I get my staples out and that means no driving. I am going to put a sign up at school to see if anyone lives up in my area that can take me to school those 3 days I can't drive. I'm going to give them gas money if they do. I am just so mad at the other guy that told me to suck it up. I am glad though that the new guy seems to know what he's doing.

Wow Jannie I'm so sorry you got bad information before. It's scary to think we should almost always get second opinions. =( Hope you find a way to school!!!

I'm sorry if I misunderstand, but am I reading your post right? A doctor told you to "suck it up"???? Yeesh! I'm changing doctors the next time I go because mine barely touches me and tells me, in the case of my shoulder, it's not a torn rotator cuff, so there's nothing he can do for me, so I know what you mean about how some doctors can be. I often wonder, if those of us who can't afford the really expensive doctors, would get better care if we could afford them? I don't know if your doctor is a lower-fee (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) doctor, and I'm not asking, but it's just something I wonder.

I'm really glad you found a better doctor! I hope he continues to be great for you, and you feel better soon.
