My son came home from school a short time ago, a timid look on his face. Very uncharacteristic for him. He said, "Dad, I have my report card." I thought, "Uh oh". He handed it to me, head down (he's taking drama, no kidding, huh?). I looked, and an enormous smile crossed my face when I saw four A's and two B's! He stuggled so badly at the beginning of the year after making the Honor Roll last year, but he assured me that he would be OK, and he was right!
My wallet shivered in my back pocket when I saw the report card too, as we give the kids $10 for A's and $5 for B's. He's reminded me that we also have a deal that if they bring home a straight A card at the end of the year, they get double...I'll gladly pay it! This kid must get his brains from his Mom, she's the smart one around here. But he got his heart and his size 13 feet from me  I just wanted to share this with all of you. I hope you don't get tired of hearing me talk about my wife and kids, but they have a very special place in my heart, and so do all of you.Love to all, Greg |

oh well you give him a big hug for me..
He seems to follow in his daddys foot steps.. Because you are such a smart man to hvae such wonderful kids.. Congrats at raising such bright and smart childern Bptoo.. Wow Greg, that is very impressive. Extremely intelligent child - every reason in the world to be proud of him.

Greg, that is so wonderful. And don't you ever stop telling us about your family. It warms my heart to see how much your wife and kids mean to you, and I would hate to stop seeing your anecdotes.

Congratulations!!!!! That really is great.
Hey Dad,  Do you pay for college grades too? I'm going to have straight A's for both semesters this year. 'Course I cheated though - only took 12 credits (4 classes) at a time. My parents didn't ever believe in paying for grades.  Please continue telling us about your family. I love hearing about them, and I'm so glad that you have a family wonderful enough to deserve you.  <font color=orange>There is an easy answer to your problem that is neat, plausible, and wrong. </font color=orange>

Bear, I think most parents want their kids to do better and have more than they did when they were kids. We just try to remind them to stay focused and work hard, and give them lots of love and support. They've all made us proud.

Thanks Trish, I'll give him that hug for you! I hope he's watched me closely and will learn from my mistakes. He's capable of doing some great things I think.
He starts football next year. It's been non-contact sports up until now. I'm freaking out... Hugs, Greg |

Thanks Tomi! I didn't mention about his size 13 foot...he's only 14 years old. If he ever grows into his feet, I may be in trouble. His older sister has already stopped picking on him. I think that happened along about the time his voice changed

Thanks Sweetie! I didn't know about loving relationships for a long time. Like a lot of us here all I knew was pain and abuse. But my wife came into my life and so much of that changed. Thanks Wendy! Sure, I'll pay you for grades. But...you have to do things like dishes, laundry, take out the garbage, keep your room clean, help me with the lawns. Sound like a plan?
I didn't get paid for grades either, but Mary and I figured a little incentive couldn't hurt. If it helps encourage them to study a bit harder, isn't it worth it? Don't worry, I'll keep taking about my family. They are my light. Love ya, Greg |

Thanks Mark! I didn't know much about family when I was younger, but as a dad it's become very important to me. I want to keep that tradition going.
