Mine's like stone, need to relax them somehow....sedatives do help but can't take them too often due to tolerance. Need to try muscle relaxants I guess... and massage ofcourse. Heading to doc next week. Have had these shoulders for years and depression and anxiety really affects my posture.

I carry a lot of my tension in my neck, shoulders and jaw. They're so stiff and sore. Get yourself to a massage therapist. That will help. I also recommend yoga -- very relaxing and stretches out those tight muscles.

a massage therapist taught me to stand in the shower and hang a heavy towel around my shoulders.......stand under the water, as hot and for as long as you can, and you'll be amazed how much it helps. i don't know if the added weight of a big towel does something......but it sure does help me. i carry all of my stress right there.......

Very very stiff shoulders, and at their worst, they can hurt like the dickens. Massage, yoga, heat and ibuprofen help.

I'm going to try that, fayerody. When I herniated a disk in my neck and had wicked pinched nerve pain, the only thing that alleviated it a bit was putting a wet towel in the microwave to heat it up and then wrapping it around my neck. I don't know if it's the combination of the heat, moisture and weight, but it helped lessen the pain for a few minutes. I'm going to try it in the shower. The microwaved towel always cools off way too quickly.

i was trying the microwave towel also and not only does it cool off too quickly, i didn't have as much control on the heat as i do in the shower. remember, the heavier the towel, the better.......xoxoxo

I carry my stress in my neck and shoulders. I found that a regular routine with a massage therapist helped tremendously. I went a couple times a week for about one month. The next month i went once a week and then I was down to twice a month. I felt wonderful until the therapist I had left Do u have stiff shoulders? Do u have stiff shoulders? Haven't found one as good since.
