I was researching the correlation of personality types with certain personality disorders and this is what I found:
ENFJ- (Conscientious personality) Obsessive-Compulsive ESFJ- (Self-sacrificing personality) Masochistic INFJ- (Sensitive personality) Avoidant ISFJ- (Devoted personality) Dependent ENFP- (Vigilant personality) Paranoid ENTP- (Inventive personality) Compensatory Narcissistic INFP- (Dramatic personality) Histrionic INTP- (Solitary personality) Schizoid ESFP- (Mercurial personality) Borderline ESTP- (Self-confident personality) Narcissistic ISFP- (Artistic personality) Cyclothymic ISTP- (Adventurous personality) Antisocial ENTJ- (Aggressive personality) Sadistic ESTJ- (Leisurely personality) Passive Aggressive INTJ- (Idiosyncratic personality) Schizotypal ISTJ- (Serious personality) Depressive I am an ISFP and so is my older sister. My mom bounces back and forth between ISFP and INFP. My sister told me she actually has cyclothymia. My mom has bipolar tendencies (she's not diagnosed) and I too have many bipolar tendencies. I have actually been concerned for quite some time if I have cyclothymia. But I haven't sought out any advice or treatment, although I want to. My older brother is an INFJ and my twin brother is an INTP. They don't relate too closely with their personality type's disorder perspectives, especially my twin brother. But my older brother does have AvPD tendencies. Obviously just because the test says one thing doesn't mean that rings true for you. For those of you who know your MBTI type, do you relate to (or even have) the disorder that is more common with your personality type? To find your type (add beginning URL details): For MBTI type- humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp Genius type- personalityhacker.com/genius-personality-test/ To read more about it (add beginning URL details): the16types.info/info/typesview.htm oddlydevelopedtypes.com personalitypage.com/html/index.shtml I'm curious to hear some answers! ![]() Last edited by wookiegoldfur; Jan 20, 2015 at 11:18 PM. |

Be careful using the Myers Briggs test as any kind of official tool. There's been quite a bit of research on the MB and it's mostly shown that the test is invalid and unreliable in every way.

In one of my first college classes, our prof. had us take the test and explained all the results. We were super serious about our results until the next class when he had us take it all again, and showed that something like 75% of us got completely different results than we had the first time. It's a shaky indicator of personality at best and at worst, a dangerous tool that many people take as truth and cling to their first results.

Thanks for the answers. And I'm aware that it's not a super accurate tool. I wouldn't call it unreliable though, I see it as more of a general idea. If you read about the different types it's not that difficult to place yourself under the one that fits you best. To get a more accurate (not 100%) reading there is also the genius test. Most people find that one to be more accurate. I just happened to be an ISFP under the MB test and and ISFP under the genius test as well.
