Hi
I'm not sure where this question fits best so I hope I am in the right place
Do you believe in magic?
I don't mean card tricks I mean telepathy, telekinesis, energy magic and so on...
I ask this because I seem to be labelled as... well for lack of a better way of saying it 'not well' for my belief in magic.
is it so wrong to know there is more to this world then meets the eye?

I'm sorry Wolf_Tracks. But I don't believe in magic or any other such thing as that. I'm also an atheist. I accept the explanation, for the existence of life on earth, that is provided by the theory of evolution. As the late Carl Sagan said: extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. I don't see any extraordinary evidence around for magic.

One thing I have concluded over the course of my 60+ years of life is that no other human being, living or dead, knows or has ever known any more about what lies beyond the world we see around us than I do. And I don't know anything. And they don't anything either. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop all sorts of people from trying to convince me, & everyone else, otherwise.

That said, there was a time when I was young, I did believe in all sorts of "extra-worldly" stuff like magic, telepathy, astral projection, telekinesis, etc. I never saw or experienced any of it. But I believed it existed & I just wasn't well developed enough psychically to experience it. As the years have gone by, though, these beliefs have dropped away... for better or worse.

You ask if it's wrong to know there is more to this world than meets the eye. No, it's certainly not wrong. Everyone has their beliefs. And, as long as they're not trying to force those beliefs on others, where's the harm? The universe we live in certainly is an amazing & mysterious place. The only caution I would offer is to be mindful of to what extent your belief in magic is affecting your ability to function successfully in the day-to-day world we all live in. One can become so wrapped up in this sort of thing that living in the mundane world becomes difficult. There was a period of time, in my life, when I came very close to that extreme. My best wishes to you.

I don't consider telepathy, telekinesis magic at all. I don't believe in magic either.
