Tomorrow is the day I was dreading. I have to go see a new PCP to see if I think he will be compatible with me. I hate those doctors who spend about 2 minutes with you and say, here take these and see me in 3 months.

This doctor will be replacing my former PCP that I absolutely loved!!! She was the best. She would spend an hour or more with you just to make sure you understood everything and what is going to happen. She actually cared about her patients! One in a million! I know she would be very upset with my sugar numbers (400-500) but at this time I just do not care. It has been quite awhile since I took my insulin. I know, I am on a road to destruction but with my pancreas, liver, spleen and kidneys, there is not much of a life expectancy....

Sorry, I just needed to vent as this really upsets me.

Sorry you lost your old PCP. Sounds like she was a really dedicated doctor.

My grandmother had diabetes and eventually had some losses due to complications from diabetes. If only she had followed the diet more closely things could have been different for her. I am still sad about that.

Maybe this PCP will be there for you too. It may not be personal. A friend had a pdoc that spent an hour with them, but then the hospital put the pdocs on timed 15 minute intervals with no leeway. Pdoc retired because could not stand the inflexibility of factory conditions in healthcare. It may be the wave of the future.

But my friend still goes to a pdoc and tries to follow the prescribed meds. That is what keeps them a little stable.

Looks like this guy isn`t going to work out...... He ordered 5 pages of lab work!!! Like I have the money for that, plus I have been through all of these tests countless times over the past 2 1/2 years. Heck, I don`t even have the money to get my A1c checked! Looks like the search continues!

Don't give up the search for a good doctor, because I promise you that they are out there.

There are good ones, who shine like diamonds.

I've had some not so good ones. And moved on.

Wishing you health and healing.
