My issues are all self-diagnosed. I do not have the money for a professional and my parents only think I'm being dramatic although I've taken lots of online tests and searched disorders through my symptoms and personality and my issues are always the ones that results to. I compare myself to other teenagers and I am the odd one out.
So, how do I get a professional's help? |

You could start with a school counselor and see what they recommend

Hi Redbeard, Welcome to PC. I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time. Blue_Bird had the best suggestion; seeing your school counselor or a trusted teacher for support and guidance is probably your best bet. Failing that, you might be able to get help from a local mental health clinic. When I was a teen, my parents were much like yours. I went to a local counseling center without telling my parents. They charged a couple of dollars. I don't know what the laws are like where you live, but that may be an option for you.
You may want to consider not taking any more online tests. Leave the diagnosing to a professional. There is a forum here for teens that you may want to check out. I hope life gets better for you. |
