Just my thoughts................

I don't have any friends on PC. There are people here that I admire, respect, worry about, but none are actually my friends.

I see many posts here that refer to people being friends.

Is it really possible to be friends with people you really don't know?

I say I have no friends here because nobody actually knows who I am, what I do or where I live. And if I died tomorrow it wouldn't really matter to anyone here.

Thanks ((((((((((( jinnyann ))))))))))))) you are very sweet but I wasn't looking for sympathy.

I was just stating my view on so-called 'friends'

I care about people here, sometimes I can't sleep because I happen to be worrying about a member or two but none are friends....................

I guess it all depends on what your definition of friend is. Friends on PC?

A friend is someone who knows you well and like.

I am grateful for your support but you don't actually know me, and I don't actually know you either.

I guess it's my choice whether to be friends with anyone or not.

I'm sorry you feel you don't have any friends. Friends on PC? that is very rough.

I don't have any friends IRL-- but i do have e-friends that I appreciate very much.

I think if one's definition of any one thing is limited then that part of their life will be also. Have you perhaps considered broadening your definition of "a friend"? Not meaning to tell you what to do-- just trying to help you to feel better.

I believe that there are many definitions of a friend-- some are close and some are casual-- but the caring can be just as heartfelt(IMO).

pegasus-- I'm sorry you are feeling friendless Friends on PC? I will be your e-friend if you will accept me as such.... but then, maybe you want more than that? I'm sorry I probably am not much help.......

pegasus-- Friends on PC? Friends on PC? Friends on PC?

You know,,, I thought that too.. no friends on this board...
I left for awhile - in part to get myself together... I was going thru a very rough time.

Returning I found I have friends here.. I offer this to you as perhaps another veiwpoint.

The people that reach out to me here, with their replies to my posts, they care about me enough to take their time and their effort to reach out to me.. to comfort me, to offer their advice, to allow me to connect with someone....when I need to just vent my anger - they listen, really listen...

For me, I changed my definition of friendship - cause I realized the people on the board are reaching out in these ways and means to give me just that.

And if you would like a friend, I would be happy to get to know you.....

Sincerely,
freewill

I feel the same way about people here. I often refer to my friends on the forums when I'm talking with friends IRL. I guess I see people here as friends because over the years, they HAVE gotten to know me. Some of us have inside jokes from chatting years ago that we still refer to. I definetly look at this community as my home at home when I'm online. I love the people here as much as I love anyone in real life, if not more!!

I can even drive around town and see something that reminds me of someone here. Just yesterday I saw a daisy painted on a wall and thought of Petunia.

Or I'll think of something I want to post while I'm out and about. And when something good happens, the first place I come is here to share it with my friends, and same goes for the bad.

So I agree that my definition of a friend has changed because of my years here at PC. I've never met anyone face-to-face, but people here take up just as much room in my heart as my face-to-face friends.

I have considered you a friend. I don't often respond on everyones thread as there is so many. I feel bad about that but I do have to do other things. But I get a smile when I see your avatar. I don't need to know where you live or what you do. If you want to share that it is up to you. Words spoken here give a good idea of peoples personalitys. I value the courage it takes for each one here to speak up and I value the freedom everyone has to be exactly who they want to be. I consider everyone here friends. Also some people have been on here for years and year.Hang in there. You matter to us,.

Hey Peg... (((hugs))) I understand, and agree for myself also in a way. What I had to do is redefine my definition of "friend." It was difficult at first...but then when I engaged in a logical discussion with myself Friends on PC? I could allow this because this is a "new" avenue of technology... and there was no precedent in my life to have a "friend" such as I can have here.... so I created an allowance of a new definition... for internet "friends."

No, we aren't the same as IRL. Friends on PC? But sometimes that's a better thing! I don't have to fear turning anyone down here because I don't feel like going out with them. I don't have to worry about taking their phone call (just because we're friends) IRL...

Yeah, you do have friends here...and I'm one of them Friends on PC?

Ditto to everything that's been said! Take it to heart, Peg... because I consider you one of my PC friends.

There is someone here that has been slow in disclosing themselves to me but I consider her a better friend than my best friend in 3D. There is much I don't know about this person, but I've grown to love them very, very much.

Our (yours and mine) acquaintance could grow into that kind of Friendship, but I don't push myself on anyone. My door and my heart are open to you anytime you choose to walk through it. Friends on PC? Friends on PC?

Your another one that I like seeing here. You were just new and then disappeared. I did too as I was having a rough time. But when I saw you again I thought I remember this person and was glad to see you. You are important.
