i've found an organized dog fight. the local, county, officer told me to put the case together and give it to him. i quit doing that years ago. i'm back under police protection now from the neighbors due to the last thing that i reported.

this fight is outside the city limits. i'm thinking of contacting someone in San Antonio, Austin or Houston for help.

any suggestions?

i can only stay incognito for so long in a town of 11,000. this concerns animals so, getting local help is obviously out of the question when it comes to the county.

they probably have 50 dogs at this location. i know i counted 34. we just busted a bird fighting ring.......those are easy..........it isn't against the law to be in attendance. and it is at dog fights. so you have the potential to make a lot more enemies around the dog fighting people.

Good luck with that. I am glad that there are concerned people out there reporting things like that when they find them.

Pat, why not call big papers or tv hostess or host of those types of programs. Maybe they could stage a bust with cops. It would get viewers so they would be apt to do it. Give them all of the information that you can and no info on you. Keep calling. Call the Mayor in the city it is happening in and give him the details. Call the governor's hot line. Are there any big time animal rights groups around? Good luck.

thanks, to you two.

i've decided to call a reporter at a television affiliate. i trust her and i know she'll give the tip to the right people.

now, i have to find out what nights they fight. i think it's Sundays. that is going to be the hardest part, because i'm afraid that my neighbor goes out there to watch and bet. it will be very hard to surveil and not be seen. (very flat country) his brother is living with him now (he loves dog fights) and he's involved in a local stabbing case.

jeez........where did the non-violent, flower children go? this concerns animals xoxoxo pat

someone has to do it. these animals cannot speak for themselves and the suckers that do these fights need to be punished severely for this. we have a bill, in Texas, waiting to be passed, that makes cruelty a felony.......pray hard!!!!

Hi Pat,

That kind of animal cruelty should be a felony with a stiff penalty.

Take care of yourself!

i'm very, very circumspect. that's how i've found so many activities wherever i've lived. in the long run, people that abuse are idiots and you can find them a lot easier than they think you can. all you have to do is be patient and they always slip up.

not that i'm not scared of them. i'm very scared of them. but i'm not as afraid as those dogs are.

I feel sick reading this.

It brings back to mind a documentary piece a few years ago about organised dogfighting here. Even sadder, it talks about so many of the dogs even if they are rescued having to be put down anyway because they are either so physically or mentally damaged.

When it comes to cruelty towards animals I actually think ... an eye for an eye. Throw those monster owner in a ring, hurt them and incense them and get them to fight each other ... don't treat their wounds ..

i'm pretty much an eye for an eye myself. i can think of several ways to subject these dog fighters to the agony and torture that is inflicted upon their dogs in the name of "sport".

did anyone see (hope i haven't already posted this) that the Atlanta Falcons quarterback's house was raided and there were 60 pitbulls there and Vick said he didn't know about it???????????????????????????????? give me a freaking break. it would cost $$$ to feed 60 dogs a day. i guess his unemployed cousin was coming up with the money....... this concerns animals this concerns animals this concerns animals this concerns animals

oh yes, he said he is "going to turn his life around now"............i have an island in Arizona for sale, any takers?

SIXTY???????

I have also read that before fights they starve the dogs a bit so they are hungrier and want to attack their opposition more.

Considering they often train them with a smaller dog as 'bait' I guess it does not surprise me.

they train them with blue and red heelers. (cattle dogs)the heelers are very feisty and will put up a valiant fight with the pitbull. it's horrid beyond belief. makes me physically sick to think about it.

Yea the footage on this doco was horrific.

Here it's gang-related quite often - Mongrel Mob vs Filthy Few for example.
