[Warning: Muppet Alert - both me and supposed IT experts ...]

1) Laptop dies

2) Use work lappy, fine.

3) Mouse pad throws a tanty. Ooops.

4) Get own lappy back but run out of power Sattyday morning because THEY HAVE GIVEN ME THE WRONG POWER CABLE BACK. Still have work lappy but GAH

5) Get IT boys to check for me and if it had fitted properly - it would have BLOWN UP MY LAPTOP (way too high a voltage).

6) Send back to Toshiba after very nicely informing the helpful little man that a Compaq power cable does not fit Toshiba laptops!!!!!!!

7) Break computer at work. No lies ... It is gone to be reformatted now :<

So I am stealing someone else's desktop while I wait for mine to be revived ... They have been calling the company in Aus for tech support ... I really must have buggered it Comedy of freaking errors ...

How am I just such a disaster zone with regards to technology??????

It's not you, it's the computers. They're conspiring to drive us all crazy so that they may take over the world.
Mine is constantly giving me hassles. I've taken to kicking it a few times. Although that does not help to fix the computer, it sure does make me feel better. I haven't broken any of my computers by kicking them-yet.
Hope technology is a little kinder to you, Dsf.

Comedy of freaking errors ... I didn't buy a notebook until I got over the urges to throw a computer out the window when it crashed. (can't throw desktops) Comedy of freaking errors ...

Heh. I have it. No one else could cause such a trail of computing destruction as I do.

OH I just need to give something a little bump and it seems to break - lol.

The precursor to this little chain of events was a virus that attacked my antivirus and froze the system.

I now use Avast not stupid Norton (that script kiddies like to play mess with) and have no further probs in that domain *touches wood*

Good grief!!! I'm so glad the computer didn't blow up!!

I prescribe a nap or a walk on the beach. It's a wonder you didn't put the lappy in the driveway and run over the thing!

Awesome an all nighter coming up!

This time I know it isn't my fault, I save manually as well as Autosave - stupid freaking puter has also managed to lose all my email addys off Outlook.

May I please scream now?

You may not only scream, you may now put the lappy in the driveway and the car in reverse.

I hope it gets better!

*resists temptation*

I am cooking my lil friend Mike dinner tonight so after I've poisoned him I might do that.

jks I have discovered I CAN cook - I was just a little out of practice / lazy ...

A friend taught me the MOST AMAZING proper Italian tomatoey red winey sauce and I simply cannot stop using it in stuff. So I am making a fish dish with parmesan and rocket salad with pear and capsicum and stuff. He is bringing the wine Comedy of freaking errors ...

So I finally get fully sorted lappy back ... and ... they have AGAIN sent me the wrong cord / AC adaptor ...

It's still the freakn Compaq one that I asked them to replace with my own one! (it would blow my puter up, IF it fitted).

I lost it a bit with the guy this morning, I was so pissed ... second mistake on the same thing ... after he said it must have been MY fault that I had a Compaq cord. I've never owned a Compaq in my life ...
My boss ended up calling them and telling him exactly what she thought ... tis sorted now :>

I think I can nearly laugh about it now, but it was not funny two hours ago ... I miss my own lappy, it has a lot of music and stuff on it that work one doesn't have.

Moral of the story, don't wreck your puter in the first place ...
