Since last Fall I've been taking care of some rose bushes in a common area of my mobile home park. They were all overgrown with weeds to the point you couldn't see the rose bushes. Half of them were on the shady side of the building. My hubby helped me move them to the sunny side but they are still suffering. I cut them back in January, I've killed all of the weeds, keep the ground tilled and I've fed and watered the rose bushes consistently. There was one rose bush that was totally covered in flowers and buds... till yesterday! Someone stripped every single flower off of that one bush!!! One selfish, gluttonous woman stripped the whole damn bush!!!! Does she water them? NO! Does she feed them? NO! Does she care for them in ANY WAY?? NO!!

How do I know who did it and that it was only one woman?? I have a friend that sits on her front porch almost all day long directly in front and across the street from where the rose bushes are. She told me who did it because this woman tried to give her one of the least pretty roses! My friend didn't take it but instead told her how hard a woman in a wheel chair works on taking care of those roses! The "thief" just giggled and went home!!!

Yeah! The bush will bloom again but in the meantime it's been clipped wrong, it's all lopsided and it's BARE!!!! Am I taking this personally? YOU BET!!! THE NERVE OF SOME PEOPLE!!!! DAMN, I'M PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that's putting it mildly!!

so sorry somebody did that to those lovely blooms they would of lasted a lot longer on the bush for everyone to view, than in this womans vase, some people can be so heartless

Some people are downright selfish and irresponsible and and and and.....I'm a lady and can't say it here!!!!

I hope she pricked herself badly on the the stems!!!!!!!!!

I don't blame you for being angry about this. I would be too!

I hope you can have some peace in knowing that you did a wonderful thing to save those bushes so all can enjoy them. Maybe it's time others in the area know exactly what kind of woman she is and keep an eye out for her in the future.

I hear you, over the years the various places we lived always seemed to have a person like that, grrrrrrr!!
Mom had a neighbor like that who would pick the roses or pears, her answer was that no body was picking them (meaning us) so she hated to see them go to waste.
The nerve!!! We were always brought up and taught not to tresspass on other's property, oh where has respect for others all gone?
Sorry to hear all your hard work fell in the hands of this rose thief, I hope she gets pricked good by the thorns.

I just made up a sign that I'm going to put up that says

<font color="red">DO NOT CUT THE ROSES </font>

They are being cared for for EVERYONE'S pleasure!

She'll probably just giggle and take some more!

The only reason I started taking care of the roses is because I felt so sorry for them being neglected like they were. It was for the ROSES, not for me or for anyone else!

I really, really hope you can work on reframing this for your own best interest. Think about how lovely the flowers were, you did such a good job on them... why not think that some guy cut them for his ailing mother in the hospital? You would gladly have given him at least some of them, right?

If you are absolutely sure it was the women in question, why not take a few deep breaths and then go speak with her to find out why.

In our community,my area had a problem with the flowers being stolen. It is a gated community btw. As I was leaving one day, an elderly lady was unplanting some of the new flower bushes in the common area. When I pulled right up behind her, she saw me and closed her trunk and moved on. I did call the police and gave them the tag number, yes she lives here...etc but after knocking on her door, she didn't answer... I think that was enough to make her stop stealing the flower bushes? Yeah. Maybe if you guess right and speak with her about how sad you are that the flowers are gone... she might offer condolences or at least information. . . but maybe not do it again anyway.

It does your heart poor when you get so upset this way... flowers, esp roses, grow back. Depending upon how much of the branch she took...you know this... I have roses and if I don't cut or dead head them, they quit blooming. The rose bush WHOLE purpose is to have flowers..so when they are gone, it works extra hard to make more! I wish for you in the near future a bush with DOUBLE the blooms

I know for a fact who it was because I spoke to her today. I asked her why she took ALL of the roses off the bush and she said she was "deadheading." BAH! I had deadheaded that bush the day before. There was not one single rose left that had loose petals. When the petals around the outside start to wilt, I add extra life to the rose by plucking the wilted ones. My FIL taught me how to do that, among other things.

I still think it was an extremely glutonous and selfish act on her part. She took every single rose off that bush! Jerry helped me put up my sign. I doubt that it will stop HER from doing again, though.

The huge peace rose is loaded with buds and will be in full bloom any day now. I may go sit amongst my rose bushes with a shotgun! LOL I can pick me off a possum or two at the same time. Too bad I'd be hauled off to jail if I did.

Oh, yes! And she whacked at that bush as if the roses were long stemmed. Cut WAAAY down on the branch. I doubt that those branches will bloom again this year, if they even grow. Jerry is of the same opinion.

I've been trying to think that maybe she took the roses to a cemetery but it hasn't helped me much. Not when they have pickups by the side of the road that sell a dozen roses for $5!!

Nothing surprises me, I have seen people take the flowers that are left at a memorial park for the people who died. I asked one what he was doing and he said getting flowers for his girlfriend, I said this is a memorial park, he got that blank look and said oh! People are oblivious to what would be considered a social norm.

Everytime we put flowers on my Dad's grave some jerks steal it and put it on a grave over the hill. I kid you not. It's not a country cemetary either. It's nice, continual care one. My mother spends her money on flowers and then refuses to let me go over to the other gave and get the flowers back. This has been going on for years.
