Hey
So like almost 2 years ago I created this fake world in my head. And I don't really know what to think of this. Should I see a psychologist? Or what?
I do realise that this is not normal. But too me it feels normal. Also I haven't told any one about this, not even my best friend. Because when they know you and they know your story, it's never the same, right. So, okay, about that world. I'm a totally diferent person. I live in Amerika (because I've always wanted to go there), I have a lot of siblings, I have an identical twin sister (because I always wanted 1), and so on. Sometimes stuff that happens in my life I put in there or just the feelings I'm feeling at that moments,
Possible trigger:
But for some reason this world only comes to me when I'm in my room, of course in those "fantasies" I go to a lot of diferent places. Also I can't put people in there that I know in real life. Not even my parents look like my real parents. I really don't know what to do. Do I need help?
And also sorry about the spelling mistakes, but I'm not from an english speaking country.

Hi! Do you feel your fantasy life is interfering with your real life? If not, it's probably nothing to worry about.

Not a diagnosis by any means, but you should look into dissociation.

I have an imaginary place in my head too, but its inhabited by some not so nice "people" forcing their will on me. I think imagination is healthy to a certain extent, if you are always living in the imaginary place or if its getting in the way of real life it could be a problem.
Thanks for this!

I think you should write. You sound like you have an imagination for fiction and you should totally hone your skill.
Thanks for this!

No matter how "messed up" your inner fantasy may appear to be, there is nothing wrong with it as long as you don't let it affect reality.

I've had similar experiences myself when dealing with people who upset me. When talking to these kind of people I've actually had fight scenes play in my head with me killing them in several different ways. I don't let it effect me negatively in my interpersonal life and it helps me cope ,therefore, I don't see a problem with it.
Thanks for this!

You should look up maladaptive daydreaming. Its an excessive form of daydream.

Hi ,

I don't believe there is any real problem with that so long as you always realize it is an imaginary world and not regard it as the real world. A lot of people do create an imaginary place for themselves to go to when they are feeling bad with depression and this is a very good idea. But perhaps keeping it to yourself is best so that there would be no potential to damage relationships with friends. Take care. Have a really great day. God bless and best wishes from your friend Francis.

If it's not interfering in your real life, it sounds like you just have a good imagination.
