((( 1day )))

No worries. Just a wee bit sensitive to the issue of my dog being blacklisted. I took it personally, is all.

It's all good.

English mastiffs are the largest and most gentle dogs i have come in contact with. A baby could take the food out of their mouths. As a matter of fact i use that as a test, can you take the food out of the dogs mouth without them growling.

(((( Petunia )))))

I understand how you would feel about them taking pictures through your windows. What a total invasion of privacy.

As to the breeds mentioned, the insurance company picks them based on dog bite statistics. The problem is most people can't correctly identify a breed of dog, and a lot of the breeds involved are mixed breeds. To most people anything with point ears and blue eyes is a husky (which is actually a group of dogs not a breed), anything medium brown and fuzzy is a chow, anything brown and black is a rottweiler. People can't correctly identify a breed normally, if you put them in a stressful situation they are even less likely to be able to. And no one pays attention to whose fault the bite was. I bet it is more often than not the fault of the person who was bit.

This is a pretty decent article on why dog bite statistics don't work. http://www.geocities.com/genealogypu...g/DogBites.htm

Before I step off my soap box, I also wanted to add that In the time I have worked with dogs the only dogs I have had problems with biting is the small ones. I've had a minuature poodle attack me, I've had a cocker spaniel attack me, but never a pit bull. I have never had a problem with one of the so called vicious breeds.
