Hello. As stated before if you have read my previous post, I can't go get therapy or treatment because of court issues that don't really involve me (it's my parents' divorce stuff over children and me). But I was going to get a psychoeducational/psychological assessment to check for everything really. I am not sure if they will look into mental illness stuff or not, but it checks for learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, giftedness, and more stuff. But, the place where I was going to get it done said they won't do it until the divorce thing is settled out because that's their policy. It's really sad. I mean, I am trying to get help and improve, but everyone is saying no because of my parents' issues. I don't like this. I just want to know what's going on and explain why I act and do certain things. I may be able to get it done if my parents' stuff is done soon, which I hope it is, but... I just want this done already! I've waited too long for this! Sigh grrr!

That sounds incredibly frustrating... I'm sorry. I wish I could help, but all I can offer is support.

That's very frustrating.. so sorry you have to wait. Are they worried the divorce is going to screw up the results or somethng?

I'm really sorry this is happening, it definitely isn't fair and I hope all the groundwork towards getting treatment you've already made helps things go quickly soon.

No, well, kinda. It is slightly complicated. They don't want their records to be given to the court in case my parents do stuff. And they don't want this stress to mess up the diagnosing results I guess.

It sounds like the motivation is likely to protect you.

A lot has been done to protect people with stigmatized health conditions and minors from people gaining access to their medical records.

That doesn't change the difficulty of putting off treatment now but it's possible it's something you'll be glad happened years from now.

I already know my parents told the court I have mental illness.

My family is all hush hush about mental health for sure.

And maybe I will be. Thanks for the response Can't get full psychological assessment until parents' issues are settled with law.
