my dad

as many of you know my dad hasn't done well since his bypass surgery last year. yesterday I spent the afternoon with him and he was really not good. I just got off the phone with my stepmom and she told me his urologist called and wants him in the office asap. his kidney function is not good at all. I don't know how I am going to handle this. he is my world. he will refuse surgery.

yeah I am hon. I take all the time I can get with him. we enjoy fishing together and went yesterday. he told me he had blood in his urine but didnt' tell me the dr had called. I am 50 yrs old and he still calls me his baby. right now I am sitting here crying. I can't stop.

Pat right now he is waiting to see the dr on wednesday. I am not sure he would go that route or not. I spoke with him a little bit ago and he sounded weak. I may go over when hubby gets home tonight. I know he was feeling like crap yesterday.

Be, it is one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. The trouble with grief is that it comes back to bite you when you think you're done with it. I didn't even remember Father's Day last year, and this year it's kicking me in the butt, for example.

I still dream about my dad, but it's still hard to look at pictures and stuff. It just makes me sad. I miss him every single day of my life. It will be 8 years Aug. 1 and you think I would be better with it by now.

I wish I had better news for you. It's just hard. No way around it. Please PM if you need to talk.

I do understand grief and I know when the time comes I will make it but with him being so sick right now I just can't think straight. lost my mom almost 14 yrs ago and I know this will be much harder than that ever was. my granddaughters really affected me and still does 11 yrs later. thanks hon for your support

You're very lucky to have such a close relationship with your Dad. Mine was kind of clueless about the father role, although I loved him dearly.

thank EJ. he told me a few weeks ago that he didn't think he had much time left. He is ready to go be with God and I am not ready for that. I am hoping the dr has something that dad will agree to do. he does have blood in his urine and his creatnine level is up a great deal I guess from what my stepmom told me. if he will not agree to dialysis I don't know how long he will have. he would never do a transplant. he already told us that last year. keep us in your prayers please.
